Three builds, and we own all three — a martial arts academy in Swansea, a chess café in Angeles City, and this site. That is the honest version: work we shipped and then had to live with. Every number below is one you can check by opening the site.

The problem

A martial arts academy does not sell memberships on a website — it sells the first visit. Somebody searching “BJJ Swansea” at ten at night is deciding whether to walk through the door once. Put every class on one page and you have handed that person the sorting job: which discipline, what age, which night, how much. Most of them do not bother.

What we built

A page per discipline and a page per age group — BJJ, combat jiu-jitsu, submission grappling and MMA, kids and adults — so a search lands on the exact class somebody was already looking for rather than a menu. Each one ends at the same free trial; the timetable and the phone number are never more than a click away. A separate Neath page covers the next town over. Built on Laravel rather than a page builder, so the programme pages come off one template and adding a discipline is a data change, not a rebuild.

The problem

A café with chess boards in it is just a café. What brings people back weekly is a rating that means something — and a rating only means something if it is kept honestly game after game, and if you can see where you stand. Nothing off the shelf does that for one venue. FIDE is built for federations, and online ratings have no idea who actually sat down at the board.

What we built

A rating engine of its own, deliberately separate from FIDE and from online play, with four time controls scored independently so a blitz player is not judged on classical. Players queue from their phone, choose a rating range, and walk in with a match ID. Behind it sits a live leaderboard, a rank ladder from Pawn to Champion, and Swiss tournaments run off the same data. Next.js on the edge, because a leaderboard you check on the walk over has to load like one.

The problem

Stock photography of somebody else’s office proves nothing, and neither does a case study you cannot open. The site you are reading is the one piece of our work that is verifiable in one click, so it is worth saying what is actually under it.

What we built

Server-rendered Next.js on the Vercel edge. No page builder, no theme, no plugin stack to renew. Every route is prerendered ahead of the request, the structured data is hand-written, and the whole thing is code you could take somewhere else tomorrow. It is the same build we would ship you.
